Why even call it a diagnosis? Why not just say discovery? Yes, I was actually diagnosed but only because my insurance paid for it. I know it's rare for insurance to pay. I think a discovery of autism is just as valid and real. And it sounds less medical.

We’re taking submissions from Autistic writers/artists to feature on our blog! We are looking for stories that revolve around autism, neurodiversity, and disability, but welcome other subjects as well, not limited to special interests, personal experiences, creative topics, media, and more.

We are looking for individuals to join our volunteer Board of Directors.

Autistic Pride Day 2024 was a blast! Hundreds gathered in Cadman Plaza Park to connect with the community, listen to amazing speeches and performances from self-advocates, and celebrate Autistic pride.

We’re proud to be selected by Hinge, Do Something and Foundation for Social Connection, to be a part of the inaugral cohort of 40 social groups who are redefining how young adults find in-person belonging and connection.

Learn ways to support the Autistic community during April!

Alternative Expression is a series of free creativity-based classes and events for the Autistic Community of NYC.

We host monthly workshops on topics suggested by our members. These workshops are Autistic-led, and structured to encourage discussion and emphasize the importance of everyone's opinions and experiences.

Lets help keep our fellow New Yorkers warm this winter! We’re accepting donations of your new and gently used coats during 3 of our events this November.

Ace Week is celebrated the last week of October, with the goal of raising awareness and supporting those who are asexual/ace.

For folks new to the Autistic community, or folks from the outside who want to be neurodiversity supporting and affirming, here is some important information and preferred terminology within our community.

Thank you all to those who attended our Vigil in City Hall Park. It was a very meaningful event to be a part of and help host, and I'm glad that many of those who came expressed that same sense of significance in being a part of this event.
