About Us
We’re an Autistic-led nonprofit based in NYC, working to build community, provide support, and create more inclusive spaces for Autistic adults in the NYC Tri-State Area. We’re also an affiliate of the Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN), sharing their commitment to disability rights and self-advocacy. We’re a small but growing team, and we’re looking for more support to help us expand our impact!
Our mission is all about connection—whether that’s social meetups, online discussions, workshops or public events.
Members explore NYC through accessible events, from Broadway shows and park outings to game nights and more.
We are Autistic run, so our organization truly represents the community we serve.
Accessibility and inclusivity are at our core—joining us is free, and we prioritize serving those who may not typically have access to programs like ours.
Why Get Involved?
One in three Autistic people experience social isolation (1), and we're four times more likely to face depression (2). Specifically in NYC, which can be a very hostile environment to the developmentally disabled and those with sensory issues, we face even more difficulties making strong connections, networking, and establishing careers, with our unemployment rate close to 40% in the US (3). Many of us struggle to get a footing in our communities, support ourselves, and make connections.
Autistic Adults NYC is dedicated to changing this reality.
Our nonprofits goal is to provide much needed programming and opportunities for connection in our community.
In addition to social events, we also provide workshops and digital resources on topics important to our members.
We want to not only make sure Autistic adults in NYC feel happy and supported, but thriving and growing into our communities.
We’re committed to keeping this group free for our members, but to grow and stay sustainable, we need your support! This autism acceptance/awareness month, support an Autistic led organization. ∞

Where Do Donations Go?
Your support helps us host more events, build community, and remain a sustainable resource for Autistic adults in NYC. Every contribution keeps our programs running - from hosting accessible social events to covering essential costs that keep our organization going.
